| FR Freedom First : New Hampshire Morgan Earns Two USEF
Horse of the Year Awards FR Freedom First, owned and shown by Victoria Surr of Manchester NH, has been named USEF Horse of the Year in both Morgan Carriage Driving and Driven Dressage. These awards are given to the horse who earns the most points nationwide during the show season in these divisions. In addition, his sire, Townshend Top Hat, was named USEF Leading Driving Sire, and Victoria Surr was named USEF Leading Driving Breeder. 2007 was the first year of carriage competition for the five year old Morgan gelding. FR Freedom First (Fred), is already following his dam, UC Rianna, in a winning tradition of carriage driving awards. In addition to the USEF awards, FR Freedom First was named Northeast Morgan Carriage Pleasure Driving Open Champion, an award given to the Morgan who has accumulated the highest combined score in Working Pleasure, Timed Obstacles and Dressage. At the 2007 Maine Morgan Horse Show, FR Freedom First earned the High Point Versatile Sport Horse Award as well as the Open Carriage Pleasure Champion. New England Morgan Horse Association named FR Freedom First as their 2007 Circuit Champion in Carriage Dressage. Granite State Morgan Horse Society named him their Year End Champion for All Morgan Competition, Carriage Driving and Pleasure Trail Driving.

the oldest nationally recognized multi-breed awards programs in the
country. The national awards are celebrated during the USEF Annual
Meeting Gala held each January. It is a chance for each member
earning the title of national champion to come forth and be
recognized by his or her peers. |
